Henry David Thoreau

Henry David Thoreau believed that in order to live well, we must reduce the number of material goods we have. Otherwise, these things begin to dominate us. Take a position on this and explain.

I think that Henry David Thoreau is right in this quote. Kids spend so much time on computers, video games, cell phones, ipods, etc. These new technological resources affect their education, because instead of studying or doing homework many of them are using one of these resources. T.V is another electronic that kids are watching instead of going outside and doing physical activities, which can lead to weight problems.
I also think he is right because humans are never satisfied with what they have. There are always new versions of electronics coming out and they always want the newest best one. Giving up electronics people can actually start working more instead of wasting time on them. People let material possesions get the best of them sometimes.
